There Comes a Time

The numbness of a foot that has been taken for granted for years. Used and abused but never appreciated. There comes a time in one’s life when you realize you are that foot and the body you support is not really a good friend. Yet… you were always there to support them. What happened here?

The brightness of the sun shinning upon the glass has been blinding your eyes for years. Hurting and glaring, you whine with complaints. There comes a time in one’s life when you realize you are that sun shinning upon the glass. You are bright and beautiful and filled with a light that only faith can give you. But why is it so hard to look directly into that light without of touch of pain?

The emptiness of a cloudy night has been growing for years. Melancholy and dismal, so you cry in vain. There comes a time in one’s life when you realize you are that cloudy night. You are filled with gloom but you must always remember there are millions of stars shinning beyond that gloom. Why is it so hard for others to see?

The chilliness of a winter path that has been trotted upon for years. Lonely and quiet, your soul loves the sound and yearns. There comes a time in one’s life when you realize you are that chilliness, and you warm yourself with a fire. You are so cold to others and so distant, yet you know you love them. Why is it so hard to relate?
